Federal Express Entry

This is one of the most popular categories of economic immigration. In 2019, the Immigration Service accepted 190,000 permanent residents of the federal technical category, which makes the federal technical category the largest source of economic immigration.

 

The minimum requirements for applying for FSW:

  1. Within 10 years, applicants must have at least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience, and their occupations must belong to the same occupation code (NOC 0, A, B)

  2. Must have 4 CLB7 or more in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English or French language test approved by the Immigration Bureau

  3. If the applicant holds a degree outside of Canada, he must complete the ECA degree certification

  4. Applicants must have sufficient funds to support their family to settle in Canada

 

For applicants who meet the minimum requirements, a score system is evaluated based on 6 factors (education, work experience, language ability, work arrangements in Canada, and adaptability). Applicants must obtain at least 67 points to be eligible for FSW.

Since January 2, 2013, the Immigration Bureau has launched this new immigration program for skilled trade workers. One of the main reasons for creating this project was to solve the problem of the shortage of skilled trade workers in Canada.

 

Minimum requirements for applying for FSTC:

  1. Must be at least CLB5/CLB4 in listening, speaking, reading and writing in an English or French language test approved by the Immigration Bureau

  2. Within 5 years, the applicant must have at least 2 years of full-time or equivalent part-time technical work experience

  3. Obtain the employer’s guarantee or the government’s skilled worker certificate

 

*In line with the occupational category for which FST is applied:


-Industrial, electrical and construction mechanics

-Maintenance and equipment operation technicians

-Supervisors or related skilled workers in natural resources, agriculture and related production

-Processing, manufacturing and utility supervisors and central control operators

-Chef

-Butcher and Baker

Canadian Experience Class

CEC was established in 2008 as a way to retain foreign workers and students in Canada. It opens the door to potential immigrants who already have work experience in Canada.

 

The minimum requirements for applying for CEC:

  1. Within 3 years, applicants must have 1 year of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience, and their occupation must be NOC 0, A, B

  2. NOC 0, A occupation

Must have 4 CLB7 or more in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English or French language test approved by the Immigration Bureau

       NOC B occupation

Must have 4 CLB5 or more in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English or French language test approved by the Immigration Bureau
